Internet websites are the "Easy Green" process of paying a fee and filling a few forms to get the nicely done logo. This is fundamentally deceptive because there is no verification process besides self-reporting. You cannot validate what is not measured. The need to have a Green business certification audited is crucial to credibility in the marketplace.

How can we tell the real environmentally committed companies to the ones all-too-willing to use greenwashing tactics and buy an Easy Green logo from an all-too-willing promoter? The only solution to the wide-spread green hype is audited certifications.
